CHAPEL OF COLLECTIVE SLEEP: SEOUL BIENNIAL OF ARCHITECTURE & ART

The Chapel of Collective Sleep is a multi-tier research project investigated the typology of the Korean Jjimjilbang. The multipurpose bathing complexes serves as spas, sleeping spaces, internet cafes, restaurants, arcades, shopping malls, museums, and so much more.

Exteriors and interiors of various jjimjilbangs were drawn and printed in a series of books which were displayed a soft, suspended, pillowy installation.

The findings from the jjimjilbang studies were used to create a protype for a build in London known as Peckham House.
