Floating
Seaplane
Terminal
Drawing from the cultural history of both Harbour Air and Richmond's Sea Island, a floating seaplane terminal is proposed adjacent to the Vancouver International Airport.
The building’s organizational scheme consists of variations of a single wooden module arrayed along the northern bank of the Fraser River - not unlike a log boom, which themselves served as the catalyst for Harbour Air’s founding.
The terminal maintains a humble and cozy scale across a variety of programme, from hotel to market to waiting area to seaplane.
